Frequently asked questions
KidTrack is mobile-first for all roles: kindergarten admin, teacher, and parent. The website is mainly for kindergarten administration and includes overlapping admin tools plus platform subscription and billing management.
Should I use the KidTrack app or this website?
Use the KidTrack mobile app for day-to-day operations across all roles: admins, teachers, and parents. The website is the kindergarten admin portal and public site (pricing/contact): it supports core admin workflows too, and it is where platform subscription and billing are managed.
What can parents do in the KidTrack app?
Parents use the mobile app to stay close to their child’s day: a dashboard-style home for updates, a Daily Reports timeline, a Photos area, and Settings for their account. Unread badges help you spot new activity when teachers publish reports, share photos, or your kindergarten posts news.
What can teachers do in the KidTrack app?
Teachers work from the mobile app with tabs such as Dashboard, My Class (overview and class actions), Plan for daily planning, and Settings. You can take attendance, draft and publish daily reports, and communicate with families in line with your kindergarten’s process. Teachers designated as managers may also see Directory for directory-related access.
How do announcements, chat, attendance, and daily reports work?
Announcements appear in the app feed with details your kindergarten shares; admins can publish from mobile and, where enabled, from the web admin portal. One-to-one chat lives in the mobile app for private conversations. Teachers record attendance and publish daily reports from the app, and parents follow these updates there. Push or in-app notifications may be sent for key events (for example reports or announcements), depending on device settings and network conditions.
How do I reset my password?
All roles can recover access through the same account system. On mobile, use the forgot-password / recovery flow in the KidTrack app. On web, kindergarten admins can use “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page. Check spam folders and use the exact email your account was created with.
What happens if I delete my account from Settings?
Delete account is permanent for all roles and requires password confirmation in Settings. For teachers, only that user account is removed and they are signed out. For parents, deleting the account also deletes children currently linked to that parent account. For kindergarten admins, deleting the account removes the entire kindergarten workspace, including member accounts (admins, teachers, and parents) and related organization data, so this action should be used with extreme care.
What do payments mean in the app, and who pays for KidTrack?
Parents and teachers may see payment-related status in the mobile app when your kindergarten uses those features (for example monthly context shown to families or staff). The kindergarten subscribes to KidTrack as an organization; KidTrack does not charge parents or teachers a separate platform fee for normal app use as part of that kindergarten.
I’m a kindergarten admin—when do I use the app vs the website?
As an admin, you can use mobile for daily work (Dashboard, Directory, Announcements, Settings) and use web for the same admin area when working from desktop. Web is especially important for organization-level setup and platform subscription billing. New kindergarten accounts include a 30-day free trial; use Contact for a walkthrough or quote.
What if our kindergarten reaches the child limit on our plan?
Subscriptions are capacity packages with a maximum number of children. There is no separate automatic per-child overage fee while you stay on the same tier. If you reach your package limit, upgrade to a larger package so you can keep enrolling children; billing and plan changes for the kindergarten are handled on the web side of the product.
How is children’s data handled in the app and on the web?
KidTrack is built for sensitive kindergarten data. Access is limited to your organization’s authorized accounts and roles across the mobile apps and the administrator web portal. For legal detail—including what we collect, why, and your rights—read our Privacy Policy.
